Week in review 5/2-5/8

Highlights:

Ran about 25 miles this week. Wanted 30, but had to take 2 rest days.

1 speed workout of 2x800, 2x1200, 1x800 @7:30 pace with a 400 jog at 9:30 pace in-between each interval.

Some shorter runs of 3-4 miles on the tread.

And the main highlight of running: a 10 mile run yesterday in 1:25 (8:30 pace) whew! That one surprised me. It was my first long run since the marathon and it felt good. Really good.

It was a beautiful day. Low 60's and a little wind.

Wore my new Brooks hat and it wasn't annoying at all. I also debated taking my jacket off at mile 5, but decided not to. Smart move since running north meant running into strong cool headwinds.

Also tried out my new mizuno shorts. This run reminded me why I usually wear the compression shorts and not actual running shorts. Let's just say I should not forget the body glide next time I wear the shorts.

Another highlight was picking up the race stuff for the Chicago spring half this Sunday at Universal Sole. The shirt is pretty cool. But I like the bib even more.

My favorite colors!

I'm really excited about this race especially after my run this weekend.

What kind of bottoms do you prefer to run in?

What are you most looking forward to this week?

-for me, the half this weekend. :)

Fooood

Got these in the mail today!

Runners world was having a huge sale a week ago to celebrate 200,000 Facebook fans. As a thank you, they had good discounts on their magazine and some other books.

Hope there is some good stuff to try.

Off to the tread for a short speed workout.

Dinner esta noche

Stir fry!!

Veg mix from whole foods with firm tofu in gluten free teriyaki sauce over white rice. I added a few splashes of rice vinegar just because.

Yum!

Yay for carb alternatives. Im still pasta'ed out.

Cheers!
