3 more!

Just did another 3 with CB. Ive done 15 miles in the last 3 days, he has done 9.5! He seems to have endless energy. At the end of every run he runs up the stairs as if he had all the energy in the world. I want to be like him!

I did not want to run tonight, but I promised CB I would take him. I am absolutely glad I did run.

No run tomorrow. It is a rest day from the 15 miles this past weekend. Muddy Buddy this weekend. I am super excited!

9 Miles!

Whew! Did 9 miles and felt good. Did 5.5 by myself and then picked up CB for the last 3.5

He is always game for a run. I love his enthusiasm.

It is starting to get warm outside, so I must be careful about clothing choices for the runs. I need to remember to leave the windbreaker at home!

3 after 2

Just did 3 miles after not running for nearly 2 weeks... Felt ok. Felt as good as I could have considering the lack of running.

CB always seems to enjoy the runs.

B2B, but not really

Ran 7.5 miles today in celebration for B2B. I did the race last year, it was fun and crazy but decided not to do it this year. Maybe I will do it next year for the 100th running of the crazy race.

Felt great! The shin thing is presenting itself again so Ice will be used shortly. Other than that, feel amazing and happy I did the distance today. It is the longest run I have done since the last 1/2 marathon i did in Feb.

Looking to do 20+ for this week. With 7.5 under my belt already, it shouldn't be a problem. I plan to do 4 miles monday-thursday and take the weekend off.

Cheers!

Takeout from ocean house. Spicy tuna roll, tempura veg and prawn, seaweed salad. No gluten!

I run to be AMAZED

That is the motto of the Nike Women's Marathon this year. The registration for the race asked us to fill in the blank with one word. "I run to be _____"

I wrote Amazed. Every time I run I am happy that I can run, that I am able to finish a 1/2 marathon (or any distance). I am amazed I can do this.

Ran 4 miles today- 3 outside and 1 on the elliptical and felt AMAZING! Even my shin thing isnt hurting. I had to ice it last night. While running I start thinking of other words to complete "I run to be..."

I run to be healthy.

I run to be happy.

I run to be pushed. [to my limits]

I run to be inspiring.

and with that, I fell short of my 20 miles for the week by a couple. Maybe I will make them up tonight. Tomorrow I plan to do 12K although I won't be running B2B. I will do it by my house to celebrate the B2b which is a crazy spectacle.

3.5 Miles

Did 3.5 miles with the Ham Dog. Was a great run- the weather was cool, I felt great, and Ham was being good.

Very excited to start training for the Nike Women's Marathon on June 14. One month from today!!!!! Then 18 weeks later I will be running my first marathon in 8 years! I am so happy and lucky to be able to do this.

Cheers!

3 miles fast!

Did 3 miles but with intervals. 2 minutes usual jog pace, 2 minutes 5k race pace (or perhaps faster) repeat. The last fast interval was 4 minutes- and I really pushed it.

Felt great.

Icing the shin.

Now what's for dinner???

Cheers!

another 4...

3 miles on the trail and 1+ miles on the elliptical. Feel beat! Perhaps it is because I did not eat 8 Chomps or Bloks before the run like yesterday? Not sure. Good workout though! Running into a 20+ mph head wind is tough.

Looking forward to doing 20+ miles this week.

Nike Womens Marathon- 160 Days!!!

Muddy Buddy- 27 Days to go!!!

8lbs lost, and a whole lot gained...

Ran 5 miles today. 3.5 outside in the wonderful windy cool Alameda trail. Then immediately did 1.5 on the elliptical-stair thing in my gym. I felt AWESOME! I want to go run another 3 but will not. Tomorrow is another day.

In other news, I lost 8lbs in the past month-month and a 1/2. This makes me happy! It really shows that eating healthy and moderate exercise can do wonders!

I drink about 2 liters of water daily. (I NEVER drink soda)
I have a cup or 2 of green tea most days.
I usually have a small 10oz lemonade or oj in the morning (weekdays)

I do not eat fast food. (Been nearly a year since I last stepped into a Mc Donalds, BK, KFC, In n Out, etc)
I do not eat heavily processed foods- like canned soup, frozen dinners, fast food, restaurant food (like Bennigans, TGIFridays, Applebees, etc...) (I still get the occasional frozen/prepared meal from Trader Joes- but they seem to not have may preservatives in them.)
I try to make mostly everything with fresh, unprocessed ingredients.

Laziness is the key to gaining weight and poor health. Simple lifestyle changes make a HUGE difference!

Cross Training

Past week i ran once. a horrible 3 mile run. Processed foods make my stomach hurt. Or at least I am 90% sure that processed foods (foods with additives/preservatives, etc) are something that i am allergic to/ my body (and the majority of other people) can't digest- not meant to digest..... This run was awful because it felt like i was going to explode. This week I plan to eat stuff that I make at home- no pre packaged, processed stuff and see what happens.

Goals for the upcoming week:

Eat healthy, non processed foods (all meals)

Run 20+ miles.

Bike 10 miles (at one time)

For the past week I ran 1 time- 3 miles and played everyday either basketball or tennis. Fun Fun!
