Happy Fat Paczki tuesday!

I woke up and ran 3 miles before work. I'm not a morning runner unless it is for a race. My legs and body just don't want to move and I feel as if I'm working twice as hard to maintain the same pace I do easily in the afternoon.

Once I got to work I was confronted with the Polish-Chicago-fat Tuesday treat:

Paczki!!

I didn't eat any of them!!

3 cheers for me for being healthy today. :)

After work, I ran 4 more miles.

Spaghetti and a small cauliflower soufflé was for dinner.

Cheers!

6 weeks, wow!

In the past 3 weeks I've logged 107 miles. I had planned to do more last week, but fell short due to feeling sick a few days.

This week is going to be better. More running, no snow, great weather. It's going to be awesome!

I was bummed to no be able to run outside this weekend. The snow and rain came and turned into a slushy icy mess.

I had to stay motivated by channeling the power of the banamex puma on the tread. I also do not look at how far I've gone until I've heard 4-5 songs on the taio Cruz or ke dollar sign ha or cold war kids pandora station. That helps to not constantly see how much I still have left to do on the dread.

I also realized that for every 3 minutes off the clock (including commercials and timeouts) of the uconn notre dame NCAA basket ball game, I would clock 1 mile.

I also spent the time looking out the window at the snowy windy rainy stuff outside. By nightfall there was at least a inch of snow on the ground. And it was slippery.

I'm super motivated and plan to continue on like this for a while.

I also registered for the chi-town half marathon on march 27. It will be the first race of 2011 for me. Originally it was going to be the shamrock shuffle 8k april 10. I'm super excited for this race and hope to pr.

Cheers!

Pigeon feathers

I was going to run outside today but I have a big aversion to running In very cold temps. (less than 40) I also prefer not to run outside when it's cold and raining (unless it is a race) or snowing (don't want to slip). Today has been a steady fall of pigeon feathers.

To me, snow looks like pigeon feathers falling. Big and small clumps of white light chunks floating around. Maybe I think this because I never lived in a snowy place until a month ago. Or perhaps it is my disdain for pigeons that makes me think of them loosing their feathers. I just don't want to run outside in it. I also hate when snow gets into my eyes. It kind of burns. Treadmill it is!!

(I also love animals and don't like seeing any animal get hurt)

At least the eternal flame at the Daley center (chicago) keeps them warm. (or are they roasting themselves?)

The ones in San Fran don't need fire to stay warm. There are so many of them!

When it's super cold in Chicago, they hang out near Garretts popcorn. What's better than pigeon poop and popcorn?

Off to the treadmill!!!!

Cheers!
