Soul cleansing

Why do you run?

Because its a necessary part of the training plan for an upcoming race?

Because you love feeling the wind at your back and sun kissing your face?

Because it clears your head and acts as your therapy?

Because the sound of your feet hitting the pavement is so primal and natural?

CB and I ran 10.4 miles along the lakefront and took it easy. (his first run in a while and my longest since mid February because of the hip flexor injury)

It was glorious.

We enjoyed our time together and had so much fun taking in the stunning weather and scenery. The sun on my face, the wind in my hair, the flowers in bloom- all so beautiful this Easter morning.

Being out there with my pup reinforced my My running mantra and made me appreciate every step and breath. We were garminless, and didn't care about our time.

After this run, I'm feeling invigorated and rejuvenated towards life and running- ready to tackle anything that comes my way.

It was a soul cleansing run.

  2. I love CB, he's so cute! And he always looks like he doesn't have ears in the pics you take. :)

I'm so happy you were able to get out and run! And that you enjoyed it so much too!

My hip feels words better this morning, so I am looking forward to a run tomorrow. (taking today as an extra rest).

  3. I love this post. The other day I was running with a friend, and it was a beautiful day, and we were on a beautiful trail, and I was very "yay running! it's good to be ALIVE!" and she kept focusing on how she wanted to go faster, etc. I did force her to stop at an overlook to check out the creek/waterfall.

  4. I was not outside running because I am a freak like that but I had a cleansing run myself. The run reinforced my love for the sport and all the great things it can bring into our lives!

  6. Great pics and a great run indeed!

Your questions about why you run are exactly why I run, lol
